Presence of wind in the stomach and intestines causes much inconvenience and discomfort. The formation of gas in the stomach is mainly due to defective digestion.
The waste matter goes on accumulating and putrefying in the intestines leading to the formation of wind. There are rumbling noises in the stomach.
The stomach is distended (swollen or extended). Sometimes the wind travels upwards and depresses the diaphragm and the pulse rate goes higher, causing sweating, uneasiness and even nervousness, the patient feeling as if of an impending heart-attack.
Treatment
For a patient of flatulence, or wind and all other ailments of the stomach, like indigestion, etc. treatment as advised in cases of ulcers should be followed for their cure.
