It is a very troublesome disease involving looseness of the bowels. Time and again one has to call at the toilet for clearing the bowels, yet always left with a feeling of impending motion.
Besides other habits or eating and living, a sudden worry or over-exertion can also cause diarrhea. Also, sometimes, it is due to change of season or place.
However, it is a violent elimination action of nature, in which the body is throwing off unwanted material from the intestines in the quickest possible manner. That is why its action should not be checked by any medicine.
It should rather be assisted. The patient should be made to lie in bed and a warm-water enema be used to cleanse the bowels. No food must be given, rather fresh water should be served to check dehydration. In case of fever, the treatment as outlined in case of common fever should be followed.
