In case of high fever, a wet-sheet pack greatly helps in bringing down the temperature. Take a bedsheet and drench it in cold water. Squeeze the water out of it and spread it quickly on the patient’s EMPTY BED. Then let the patient lie on the sheet, rather naked.
Wrap up his body completely with the wet sheet, leaving out only the face. Cover the head with a wet towel. Now cover the wrapped-up body with one or two blankets completely. Let the patient lie for some time with blankets on.
In this process the cold water of the sheet gets heated on touch with the patient’s hot body and a close circuit of steam is formed under the bed-sheet coverage, which helps opening up the pores of the body and the patient starts perspiring.
The perspiration brings down the temperature. After some time remove the blankets and wipe off the sweat from the patient’s body. With the bed-sheet removed and getting dressed up, let him lie on the usual bed to recover further.
