A – DIET
I. An all-fruit diet for 5 days, with three meals a day at five-hourly intervals. The bowels should be cleansed daily during this period with a warm-water enema.
II. Thereafter, gradually adopt a well-balanced diet on the following lines:
1. Upon arising: 25 black raisins soaked overnight in water along with water in which they are soaked as well as water kept overnight in a copper vessel.
2. Breakfast: Fresh fruit and a glass of milk, sweetened with honey and some nuts, especially almonds.
3. Lunch: A bowl of freshly-prepared steamed vegetables, two or three whole wheat chappatis with butter and a glass of buttermilk.
4. Mid-afternoon: A glass of carrot juice or sugar cane juice.
5. Dinner: A large bowl of fresh green vegetable salad with lemon juice dressing, mung bean sprouts and cottage cheese.
6. Bedtime: A glass of milk sweetened with honey and few dates.
AVOID: Smoking, coffee, tea, alcohol and all processed, canned and refined foods, especially white sugar and white flour products.
Note: Make liberal use of garlic, onion, carrot, yeast, lady’s finger, curd, millet, lecithin and food rich in vitamin E, A and C.
B – OTHER MEASURES
1. Physical activity in fresh air, sufficient exercise and yoga asanas such as bhujangasana, shalabhasana, pavanamuktasana, and shavasana.
2. Vigorous massage all over the body, twice a week.
3. Cold hip baths for 10 minutes daily.
