A – DIET
Adopt a well-balanced optimum diet on the following lines:
1. Upon arising: Fresh fruit juice. Dilute sweet juices with water.
2. Breakfast: Cooked cereals like coarsely broken wheat (dalia), milk sweetened with honey, and few almonds.
3. Mid morning: One fresh fruit.
4. Lunch: Steamed or lightly cooked vegetables, whole wheat chappatis with butter and a glass of buttermilk.
5. Mid afternoon: Fresh fruit or vegetable juice or few nuts.
6. Dinner: Raw vegetable salad, with lime juice and vegetable oil dressing , cooked vegetable from among those allowed, one or two whole wheat chappatis, cottage cheese and buttermilk.
7. Before retiring: A glass of milk sweetened with honey.
Important: Take frequent small meals rather than three large ones.
Especially Beneficial: Vitamin C, E, and B-complex, potassium, apple and molasses(sheera).
Avoid: Tea, coffee, sugar, white flour and products made from them, refined foods, fried foods, flesh foods, condiments, pickles, alcohol and smoking. Restrict consumption of salt.
B – OTHER MEASURES
1. Fresh air, breathing and other exercises, including yoga asanas.
2. Adequate rest, proper sleep, relaxation and meditation.
3. A prolonged neutral immersion bath.
