A – DIET
I. Raw juice- diet for three to five days. A glass of fresh fruit or vegetable juice should be taken every two hours from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and the bowels should be cleansed daily through warm water enema, during this period.
II. An all-fruit diet for further three to five days. In this regimen, take three meals a day of fresh juicy fruits at five-hourly intervals.
III. After the all-fruit diet, a restricted diet consisting of fruits, salt-free, raw or steamed vegetables with whole meal bread or chappatis may be taken for about seven days.
IV. Thereafter, a balanced diet on the following lines may be adopted:
1. Upon arising: A glass of lukewarm water with half a freshly squeezed lime and a teaspoon of honey.
2. Breakfast: Fresh fruits, a handful of raw nuts and a glass of milk.
3. Lunch: A bowl of freshly prepared steamed vegetables, one or two whole wheat chappatis and a glass of buttermilk.
4. Mid-afternoon: A glass of fresh fruit or vegetable juice.
5. Dinner: A large bowl of fresh green vegetable salad with lemon juice dressing, sprouts and cottage cheese or a glass of buttermilk.
AVOID: Tea, coffee, alcoholic beverages, flesh foods, condiments and highly flavoured dishes, sugar, white flour and all products made from them and denatured cereals.
B – OTHER MEASURES
1. Sun bath everyday early morning and fresh air as much as possible.
2. Mud pack over the sites of eczema for one hour twice daily.
3. Cold compress or cold wet fomentations in case of acute eczema and hot compresses or hot fomentations in case of chronic eczema.
