Another Indian, who probably deserves mention in the exclusive world of Indian magneto-therapy, is Dr Ramchand Bhulchand. He travels the globe professing to cure all diseases from asthma to heart ailments using magnets. According to him, even by-pass surgery and other complicated surgical operations can be avoided using magneto-therapy. The declogging of arteries can also be effectively done using this therapy, he says.
Dr Bhulchand says he hit upon the idea while speaking in Orlando, US, on the use of magnets for therapeutic purposes. He heard that magnets were being used to prevent clogging in oil pipes. Besides, an advertisement in the Daily Telegraph, London, spoke of a ‘wizard’ who used powerful ceramic ferrite magnets to break down the molecular structure of magnesium and calcium in water which causes lime scale on pipes. Subsequently, they were free of such deposits.
In Dr Bhulchand’s method, the South Poles of magnets are placed on the outside of the heart. Accompanied by deep abdominal breathing, this simply declogs the arteries. According to him, a simple life free from bad habits in addition to a vegetarian diet achieves spectacular results in cleaning the arteries and helps avoid heart surgery. The entire procedure seems very simplistic but the good doctor insists he has a cure on his hands.
He adds that holding the South Pole of the magnet over the arteries from outside, for five minutes, five times for five days, along with some light breathing exercises and punching at the navel point half-a-dozen times will act as effectively as balloon angioplasty. He cautions, however, that this should not be done on pregnant women.
Dr Bhulchand normally uses ferrite ring magnets with an outside diameter of 45mm, inside diameter of 22mm with a thickness of 9mm. These would be supplied free to those who contact him directly.
Dr Bhulchand has his very own bag of tricks. He uses magnets for a number of other cures as well. By aligning a magnet with a line thread, the poles can be determined, he says. The pole that faces the north of the earth is the magnet’s south. Five magnets of the above-mentioned size are used for treating asthma. They must be placed north-south-north-south north and tied so that they do not fall apart.
In Dr Bhulchand’s method, a series of these magnets (three norths and two souths touching the body) should be placed on the bronchial tube downwards from the throat. The patient should then do some breathing exercises. This kills bacteria and breaks down mucous, giving immediate relief. These patients would no longer need inhalers. The doctor advises patients to avoid sugar and milk – the main causes of mucous.
Even if the prescribed diet is not followed, the exercises will immediately relieve the patient of the problem, he insists. This should be followed by a change in diet. The food must be properly chewed. Patients are advised to drink magnetised water, which reduces constipation and keeps the stomach and the system clean. He adds that salt, sugar, milk, milk products, starch, non-vegetarian dishes and fried food should be avoided.
Dr Bhulchand feels that many ailments can be cured by applying the North Pole to the affected area and the South. According to him for the treatment of headaches, keep the North Pole of one magnet on the centre of the forehead and the South Pole of another behind the head, in one straight line. Dr Bhulchand goes a step further and insists that by whispering repeatedly “breathe slower and deeper” near the ears the pain will miraculously vanish.
To cure arthritis, apply the North Pole of a magnet to the affected knee and the South Pole of another magnet to the opposite side of the affected knee. Magnets will have to be placed theoretically attracting each other and in an imaginary straight line. Magnetic field and deep breathing will automatically remove the pain. Patients should sit relaxed with their backs towards the south. Dismissing questions from sceptics, Dr Bhulchand promises “quick results”.
Put some pins in a glass. Bring a magnet close to it and see how they start moving, he says. Similarly, when a magnet is brought in touch with the body, cells within get activated. Basically, each and every cell of the human body is electrical, and every disease is created by some physical or mental blockage in the system. “By rubbing a magnet on the ailing part of the body, the cells start getting charged, clearing the blockage,” he explains.
“Magnetism cannot be seen but its effects can be felt,” says the Japan-born, 68-year-old doctor whose mission in life is apparently to spread the message of good health with the use of magnets. In a bid to affect cures worldwide, he also produces uplifting healing tapes which speak to your subconscious mind to keep it free from depression, insomnia and various tensions. Magnets and treatment procedures for a variety of ailments are also provided.
India has a full-fledged Permanent Magneto-Therapy Cure Centre established in 1999 at the Chittaguppi Hospital in the Lamington Road area of Hubli.
But barring a few innovative, pioneering and enthusiastic persons, who are doing their bit to spread magneto-therapy, the bulk of the research and knowledge on the subject has to be imported.
