Magnet Therapy: Duration of Treatment

Treatments of 15 to 30 minutes twice a day are sufficient for most conditions if pulsed magnetic forces are used; half an hour to several days if permanent magnets are used; or up to 30 days or more if magnetic flex pads or magnetic foils are used.

But the real judge of the treatment is the patient. Body wisdom should be respected. The part of the body being treated will send signals if the treatment is continued past the optimum time. Listen to the body, use magnets, if necessary, as an accessory to conventional treatment, and be prepared to make changes in its use as the situation demands.

For acute conditions, improvement may be observed in as little as a few minutes. If there is no improvement at all, which can happen sometimes, then continued magnetic treatment probably will not help. Drop it.

In the case of chronic or long-term ailments, the results will quite naturally take longer. Many conditions, like the patient’s general health, are important. Results may be evident only after a month or more of daily treatments.

Remember, magnets don’t heal; they help the body heal. So to prevent a recurrence of the problem, it is also necessary to adopt the right habits like a good diet, a positive attitude and sufficient exercise. The preventive use of magnets can also be adopted once the person gets well.

Magneto-therapists all over the world have reported amazing results with magnets for nearly all diseases. But there are many variables at play like different constitutions, temperaments, dietary habits, climate, age, the type of disease, how chronic it is, hereditary factors, lifestyle, habits and so on.

There is no fixed rule on how long a cure will take. A magnet is normally applied only once a day but in chronic cases it may have to be applied twice a day. In the beginning, to gauge susceptibility to magnetic effect, a magnet should be applied for not more than five minutes. Children should never be exposed to strong magnets. The total time a magnet is used can be raised to 20 or 30 minutes twice a day but that will depend on the disease and the tolerance of the patient.

Even after achieving a cure, the magnets should be used for regaining strength. Healthy patients can use a magnet for 10 minutes a day as a preventive.
