Apis mellifica – Worse from heat; better; cold bathing. Urticaria. Oedematous swelling and stinging pains, Restless (as a bee). Burning stinging pains. Thirstlessness; scanty urination. Sensitiveness to touch and pressure.
Arnica – Bad effects of mechanical injuries, even if received years ago. Concussions and contu*sions, results of shock or injury; without laceration of soft parts; prevents suppuration and septic conditions and promotes absorption. Tendency to small painful boils.
Belladonna – Skin of a uniform, smooth, shining, scarlet redness; dry hot, burning. Scarlet Fever (specific). Rush of blood to head and face; red face; throbbing of brain and carotids.
Cantharides – Bums and scalds relieved by cold applications – before and after blisters from. BURNS : If the skin be unbroken, apply an alcoholic solution of any potency and cover with cotton; this will promptly relieve pain and often prevent vesication. If skin be broken, use in boiled or distilled water, and in each case, give potency internally.
Carbolic acid – WOUNDS, lacerated, from blunt instruments; bones bare, crushed; much sloughing of soft parts (Calendula). Exanthema : malignant scarletina and variola.
Causticum – Cicatrices, esp. burns, scaldsfreshen up, become sore again; old injuries re-open. Patients say: Have never
been well since that burn.
Dioscorea – Villosa Felons, early when pains are sharp and agonising; when pricking is first felt; nails brittle.
Graphites- Unhealthy skin; every injury suppurates. (Hep) Eruptions upon the ears, between fingers and toes and various parts of body, from which oozes watery,transparent, sticky fluid Cracks of fissures in nipples, labial commissures. The nails brittle, deformed.*
Hepar sulph. – Chills easily; cannot put hand or foot out of bed. Skin : eruptions moist. Blisters that threaten to suppurate. Most essential feature : tendency to suppurate, whether in abscess, glands or elsewhere. All inflammations are extremely sensitive to touch with splinter-like pains.
Hypericum – Injury to parts rich in sentient nerves – fingers, toes or parts where the intolerable pain shows nerves are severely involved. TETANUS after traumatic injuries; from treading on nails, splinters (Led), from rat-bites; prevents Lockjaw. Punctured or lacerated wounds sore, painful (Ledum. – Contuse wounds; Arn. Ham.). Bad effects of spinal concussion; after a fall on coccyx. – Preserves integrity of torn or lacerated member when almost entirely separated from body (Calendula). Crushed, mashed finger-tips, with excruciating pain.
Anthracinum – In carbuncle, malignant ulcer and complaints with unceration, sloughing and intolerable burning. When Arsenicum or the best selected remedy fails to relieve theburning pains of carbuncle or ulceration. Haemorrhages; blood oozes out from mouth, nose, anus, etc. tar*like, rapidly decomposing (Crotalus hor). Dissecting wounds with tendency to gangrene. Septic fever, marked prostration. (Ars., Pyrog). Bad effects of inhaling foul odours of putrid fever or poisoning by foul breath (Pyrog).
Lachesis – Worse extremes of temperature; sun’s rays; summer; pressure; sensitive to touch. After sleep. Boils, carbuncles, ulcers with intense pain (Tarent. cub.) Malignant pustules;decubtus; dark, bluish, purplish appearance; tend to malignancy. Abscess : to rapidly mature give a dose of 1M every two hours.
Natrum mur. – Worse from heat of sun; Better; Open air, cold bathing. Urticaria, acute or chronic over whole body, esp. after violent exercise. Eczema : raw, red, inflamed, esp. in edges of hair. Worse from eating too much of salt; at seashore. Warts on palms of hands, (sore to touch: Nat.c). Herpes about anus and on borders of hair at nape of neck (in bend of knees : Hep., Graph).
Petroleum – Worse in winter; better in summer. Skin of hands rough, cracked; tips of fingers rough, cracked, fissured every winter.Tenderness of feet which are bathed in foul-smelling sweat (Graph., Sanic, Sil). Herpes of genital organs, thighs, itching, cracked, bleeding, dry or moist.
Sepia – Herpes circinatus in isolated spots on upper part of body. In intersecting rings over whole body (Tellurium). Itching of skin of various parts; of external genitals – not amel. by scratching and is apt to change to burning (Sulph).
Silicea – Worse cold; uncovering. Unhealthy skin; every little injury suppurates. Crippled nails on fingers and toes. Fistula lachrymalis, ingrowing toe-nails; Panaritium; blood boils; carbuncles ulcers of all kinds.
Psorinum – Despair from excessive itching, (sleepless). acne, all forms worse during menses. Eruptions easily suppurate; Skin dry, inactive, rarely sweats; dirty look.
Sulphur – Itching, voluptuous, better from scratching; “feels good to scratch”; scratching causes burning; worse from heat of bed. Soreness in folds (Lyc). Boils coming in crops.
