Argentum Nit – Ophthalmia neonatorum : Profuse, purulent discharge; Cornea opaque, ulcerated. Lids sore, thick swollen, agglutinated in morning. Worse in warm room. Better in open air bathing with cold water.
Belladonna – Eyelids sore, congested, sparkling, swollen. Pupils dilated Eyes sparkling, prominent, staring, red conjunctiva. Pupils dilated. Photophobia. Diplopia. Agg. heat of sun looking at shining objects.
Psorinum – Intense photophobia with inflammed lids; cannot open the eyes; lies with face buried in pillow. Recurring Ophthalmia
Pulsatilla – Styes, especially on upper lid, from eating fat, greasy rich food. Blepharitis. Conjunctivitis from cold. Open air ameliorates.
Mercurius sol. – Lids red, thick swollen. Profuse, burning acrid discharge Photophobia worse from heat and glare of fire (foundry men).
Sulphur -Painful inflammation of eye from presence of foreign body. Retinitis caused by overuse of the eyes. Photophobia. Agglutination of lids. Styes and tarsal tumors.
