Preksha Yoga: General Precautions

In this section a few selected diseases, their causative factors and symptoms are discussed in brief. With the description of each disease, in the end a Preksha-yoga therapy capsule has been given to manage the disease. The capsule includes:

• Shat kriyas
• Yogic exercises
• Asanas
• Mudra and bandh
• Pranayama
• Kayotsarga (Relaxation)
• Preksha
• Anupreksha
• Dietary recommendations

To get better results one should adopt the full capsule, under the strict guidance of a qualified Preksha-yoga teacher/ instructor. The duration of various components of a capsule prescription for a particular disease should be decided by an expert.

It is worthwhile to mention that a healthy man or woman may also adopt basic exercise capsule programme to maintain the sound health and keep away the psychosomatic diseases.

General Precautions

1. All the exercises should be learnt well with an expert before performing them at your own. It involves ample risks if done without adequate training.

2. While performing either of the exercises no extra pain and pressure should be exerted. Learn it slowly and then move ahead very slowly to get final posture of an exercise. If there is any problem, stop it immediately and consult the teacher.

3. If you have undergone any surgery or you are suffering from a serious chronic disease, you must take extraordinary precaution while selecting the exercises.

4. In case of pregnancy only very selected excecises are to be adopted as per advice of expert.

5. Only selected diseases have been incorporated in this book. For other diseases you should take the advice of an Preksha yoga expert.

6. Select a quiet, peaceful and open place for your exercises.

7. Wear loose and comfortable but limited clothing for your exercises.

8. Avoid closed room, bright flood light and loud music system while doing exercises.
